Well hello there!!!

Well hello there strangers!

Remember me?  No?  That's ok - lets refamiliarize ourselves....I have the crazy 4 year old, the one that walks into the room and says "hey momma, I have sumthin' to show ya"....followed by him whipping out his white bum & mooning me....is it coming back to you now?....are you starting to remember? Still no??  Okay - how about this...it's me - the one who refused to put up the Christmas tree last year (i'll have you know, there was one put up this year....it doesn't matter if it was ripped down in 35 seconds flat on Christmas day, haha)...yeah, see, it's me!!!  I knew you would rememeber!!

                                                                       See that's us!!

Not much is new here...Bugs is still making me laugh....and making me want to rip my hair out all at the same time...weird how that works.

We are looking into schools for next year....wait....schools??  Like, is he old enough for that??!!  Holy snikeys!! Aside from that, he parties with his Daycare buddies all day, and at night, we start the fight about sleeping in our own beds (I will have you know that he has done 2...read em, TWO nights in his own bed....yeah, I know he is almost 5...don't judge....or judge if you want too)....I gotta say, not sleeping with a a baby ninja is heavenly!!!

I will do my best to blog more often....this once every few months, sucks!...

We've had such a fun past month or so...I know, it has been that long since I last wrote, if not longer...but we've been enjoying life, and all that it has to offer us.  We've had many laughs, and fights....oh, the fights.  Yikes....but they are part of learning your mom is always right, hahaha.....

Homemade Peanut Butter....

So, friends in internet land, do I have a recipe for you....

*DISCLAIMER* ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HATE YOUR VACCUM, HAVE A CARPET CLEANER, AND WANNA HEAR "TOLD YA MOMMY" FROM YOUR 4 YEAR OLD.

SO, Bugsley has this thing where he loves to snack in his bedroom while he is watching cartoons.  I get it, everyone loves a snack.  He however, hates to eat like a civilized human, and clean up after himself.  After being told 1000's of times to pick the peanuts up off of the floor, and 1000's of times ignoring me, I got mad and did it myself.  Now, I may have slacked a bit crapload, and thought I could just vaccum them up. Here, ladies and gentleman, is where you should don your specs, grab a pen and paper.....I'll wait.......................................................

All ready??

Ok, so, the first step, obviously, clean up the dinosaurs and lizards and miscellanous pieces that you know for a fact do NOT go through the vaccum....

Now, vaccum up those peanuts.  Yep, this is nice and simple.  Just suck 'em up....it helps if you have an upright vaccum, but anyone will do, I'm sure.

Next...continue to vaccuum, but keep in note, this is where the carpet cleaner will come in handy....see those grease spots that are being left on the floor, yep, those brownish ones, yeah...well, in the creation of this delish concoction, I noticed them too....and then noticed that the vaccum wasn't really working, and oddly enough, there were not crushed peanuts in the canister of the vaccum...how bizarre...shouldn't they be the size of the peanut topping on ice cream??

Now, this is where you may will curse.  Flip that bad boy vaccum over onto its back, so you can get a nice view of the beater bar....see all that peanut mulch stuck up in there....There's your peanut butter!!!!!  You will have to use a butter knife to scrape it out, and make sure you get it all cause we all know that peanuts can go rancid, and that would make your vaccum smell awesome!  Get it all scraped out, and give your vaccum a try again....Dang, isn't that awesome how it works so well again......I know mine was like a whole new vaccum...

I'm sure your 4 year old will now enter the room, to proclaim what a mess you made, get mad because you ruined his 'peanut bowl'...aka chair, and loudly proclaim "told ya you couldn't vaccum up peanuts mom...."....proceed with swearing.

Haul out that carpet cleaner to clean the grease marks.

Ladies and gentleman, you have now created peanut butter using only your vaccum!!!!  Not to mention, pissed off your neighbors with the sound of the peanuts being mulched, swore at everyone in a 5 foot radius, dang near stabbed yourself with your butter knife, and swore if Bugsley ate in his bedroom one more time, he was going on a liquid diet.

He's growing up. Sniffle....

When did my Bug turn into such a little man??!!

When did his milky breath turn into full blown night time halitosis?

When did his toys become so hard for me to play with?   What happened to the love of tupperware to play with??  Now he just uses it to carry water and make a mess somewhere!!

Hasbro, we are still not talking (Hasbro hatred) - however, your Gravity Bots (My Sanity) do kick some serious ass....

When did he learn that everything is "AWESOME"??

When did his love for tattoos, stick on, mind you,  outweigh mine??!

Why does he have to go to Kindergarten soon??!

Where is my little bitty baby that I could hold in the crook of my arm?

But yet, as big as he is, I still love the night time "mommy can I sleep wiff you?"'s....the stuffie stuck under his arm at every moment...the random "i love you momma"'s...the wet sloppy kisses...the absolute excitement at seeing Uncle Brad...

I love this boy.

It's official, my Bug is growing up, and I don't like it one bit.

What I`ve learned since moving to the city

  • It is dang near impossible to pass a play park without hearing `Can we go to the park, can we go to the park`.....
  • There is a Starbucks on every corner, but yet their menu kinda sucks.  Starbucks is kinda over rated.
  • Not all daycares are created equal.  Ugh.
  • As much as there is to do in the city, it is still easy to have no life
  • I thought I was a shopper - Whew, Nolan is 10 times worse! He loves him some shopping.
Ok, for real people, this is the lamest post, but I have nothing to say!!  Hahaha...I work, we go home, have supper, bed and do it all over again the next day!

I wish I had something interesting to write!

Dearest Bugsley

My dearest Bugsley;

It`s come time for mommy to send you yet another gentle reminder on life...

I know how much you love your Nintendo DS, and mommy loves it too...a lot...it is her salvation following a long day, however, that being said, I do not, repeat, do not like to play it.  I do not understand your games, and the more you scream, regardless of the decibal level, my ability to play does not improve immediately.  I am sorry you do not understand this.

Bugsley, midnight is not a cool time for bedtime.  Mommy doesn`t like it when she is in bed and asleep before you are.  I know that you cannot go anywhere, nor do anything without me, however, I do not like to sleep with one eye open.  I much prefer them both closed.  Fully.   When you have children, you will realize how vital sleep really is.  And until then, maybe the days that you are tired, I will remind you what it is like to be kept awake....or maybe not.

At the age of 4, you are the most emotional I have ever seen you...the crying attacks because we park in the parkade do nothing to make me happy...in fact, they do the opposite.  Please heed my advice - deal with the fact that we do not park above ground, or I will leave you there while I park underground.  The waterworks also do not increase my DS ability.  I`m sorry to have to tell you that.

Now, I know you love to kiss....and kiss, and kiss and kiss and kiss.  The fish lip pucker is great, but please, wipe the excess saliva from your lips prior to kissing me.  Please.  I don`t like gobby, drooly, sloppy kisses.  Nor will your wife.  I tell you this, only to keep you from embarrassment in your future.  Trust me.  I have yet to meet a person that likes a gooey kiss.  Please take note of that.

Bugsley, I love you to bits, but please take note of my advice.  I do not play DS nor will I learn in a 30 second window.  I love your kisses, but don`t like the drool.  The crying is ok...when you are hurt, but please not for no good reason.  It hurts mommy`s head.

Love always,

Mommy

Our weekend in a nutshell...

Wowza...a busy weekend, but a good one.  Bugsley and I packed up & headed Southbound to see the fam for my daddio`s birthday (Happy birthday daddio).  It was so nice to have old family fastly becoming new friends, just as if I had never left the picture.  Thanks for always making me feel welcome.  Here`s to becoming a part of one another`s lives *clink* (that was my toast...duh.)

I left Bugsley with his daddio, while I rocked out on the way home.  KC and the Sunshine band so can`t walk on sunshine like I can....heeeeck no.  There is nothing better than cranking the tunes, raising a little hell with Trooper, and hitting the highway...that is unless it is midnight, you are dogass tired, and singing only to stay awake...

Did some major fence painting, then back off to pick Bugsley back up.

Now off to catch some zzzzzzz`s.....

Hoping there is a good week in store for us all!

Don't Drink from the Athabasca

When a buglet has to go, a buglet has to go!!

We hit up Jasper again this weekend, and Bugsley LOVED it...

We hit up the Jasper Tramway (holy snot - not cool for someone afraid of heights.  Bugsley loved it...me not so much)...

P.S - Notice how all my pictures have the railing in the bottom??  That's cause I am badass and refuse to step to the edge!

My chipmunk picture....and now Nolan's...

wait for it...wait....wait....

Ta - Daaaaa!!!  A chipmunk from a 4 year old perspective!!

We moved our party from the mountain top (thank the Lord), to the streets of Jasper...

And on to the Athbasca Falls....

No trip to the mountains is complete without throwing rocks in the water,

Watermelon faces,

Skinned knees,

Self portraits.

Top it all off off bubbles on the balcony while the thunder clouds form and you get,

A weekend full of smiles and laughter.

Our delightfully, quiet little life

Wow, it's been a while since my last post...that's what happens when you have nothing worth writing about going on in your life, haha...

Nolan came to a football game with me last week, and loved it...well, actually, he loved the cheerleaders, not the game.  Well, the girls and the fireworks....and the candy apples...pretty much everything but the football game itself. Oh well, he was great, and loved it.  We'll go again for sure...

He's still loving daycare...and has even made a few little friends.  The joys of living in the area of the city that is populated by Indian (Not native, but like East Indian) people...he's friend at daycare's name is "Kleenex"...well, that's not really his name, but that's what Nolan thinks it is, hahaha...poor kid.  I can only imagine Nolan calling him Kleenex all day...mind you, I call Nolan Bugsley, so he can probably relate....

Other than that, our life is quiet and delightful!!!

Things I love...

Love finding a new play place, tucked away in a spot I would otherwise never find it (Thank goodness for random furniture shopping trips - it seems to be the time when you stumble upon great little places)

Places like these however, are almost easier to let Nolan fall asleep on the slide, or in the ball pit, rather than trying to take him home awake...perhaps upon entering, I should start to hand out war plugs with a sweet little note attached "*Disclaimer - the choice to not use the provided ear plugs may result in severe ear damage - the idle threats you may hear upon our exiting the building are 'most often' idle threats - if you stand within a 3 foot radius, you too may be univited to Nolan's birthday party*"....I think it would work...

I love Nolan's latest angry threat "YOU ARE NOT COMING TO MY BIRTHDAY"....Saaaawwweeeeet!!! No party plannin' for me!!!  Oh, to be young enough to truly believe that your birthday is the end all, be all to life....

I love stumbling across a great new treat at a time where I am pretty sure, I would drink the lemon scented cleaner - it just smells so lemony...(I just so happen to be on a teensy bit of a lemon kick)...

And last but not least, this I love the most....

This is a face that only a momma can love...

(and yes, he is on the toilet, cause I'm a good momma like that...)

Happy Thursday!!

Can you feel it??!!

There is nothing better than picking up my Bug, all pink and sticky from his watermelon snack...having warm enough weather to wear shorts, knees skinned already...slurpees...the smell of sunscreen on my Bug...popping the lid on a can of Lay's chips on the balcony...

It's gonna be a good summer - I can feel it...

Random stuff...

Well hello strangers!!

First things first - no more Facebook account for me...yep, that's right, I cut the tie.  No need to have it anymore - everyone that I want to know my details already has them!

Now that I got that little piece of info out of the way, on to way funner things!!

Apparently I should take grammar or language lessons - funner??...yeah well....So, spent the weekend in Jasper, and had the best weekend that I have had in a long time...relaxed, saw some water falls, met a bear, good times!!

Looks as though there are going to be no pictures attached as my computer won't let me upload...

Have a good day folks!!

Snow Day!!

We enjoyed our snow day - did you??!!

The very joyous, oh so glamorous...Flu.

Ugh, this Friday and Saturday, I was blessed with the life sucking flu.  Kill me now.  It was awful...Poor Nolan was on his own...he was such a good boy...that is until I asked for a glass of water.  One glass of water...It was all that I could keep down at the moment.  I had no energy to walk across my gargantuan apartment  to get it myself.

"Bug, can you please get mommy a glass of water - here is the glass"...

"Nope, I can't...I got a sore arm.  wanna know what happened??"...

"Sure"

"A coyote bit my arm and my nose.  I can't get you water. My arm is too sore"

Apparently we must keep our eyes peeled for these ferocious beasts!!

Dang kid.

Totally random...

I'm missing my Bug.  He's with his daddy this weekend.  Six of one, half dozen of the other...miss him while he is away, but savor the silent moments...He's at such a funny age right now...everything he does, he wants a high five, because "it was AWESOME, right mommy?!!"...Carries a bag of groceries in the elevator..."High five mommy, that was AWEEEESOME"...Has a bath..."That was AWESOME hey?!"...Where does he learn this stuff??!!  He's my little man now!

We are loving living in Edmonton - it's nice being closer to work.  People we want to visit are only a hop, skip and jump away now...No longer a couple of hours...Our apartment is nice...it feels like home.  Life is good.

I hope your life is good too!!

Finally!

We're in the new house....Nolan's in the new daycare (which he quite likes - they do Yoga....ever seen a 4 year old boy do Yoga?...it's quite entertaining!!)...finally starting to get settled...woohoo!!

A couple of pics to liven things up...

Hanging at the new park

Life is so rough when you have to get dressed...

Happy Thursday!!

I'm baaaaaacccckkkk...

I'm baaaaacccckkkk..

After a much needed break and a major life re-vamp, we are back and ready to go!!  Nolan and I are awaitng the possession date of our new house, have a daycare, I have a new job - really, what more can you ask for!!  Life is good...I am anxiously awaiting getting back into our own little routine...

We survived the Easter egg hunt at mom's house - who knew Nolan would be such a snitch and tell all the other kids where we hid their eggs....last year of his helpfulness, that's for sure!!  It was fun though...Nolan had a blast.

Life is finally looking up, so that means I will get back to regular blogs!!

Lucky you...

Scattered thoughts...

I'm home!!  I enjoyed a glorious 2 weeks in Costa Rica, loved every minute of it & would go back in a heartbeat...

I'm grateful...

well hello there strangers...

Yep, we are still here...plugging away. Lots has happened in our lives lately, lots that has made us, well me, Nolan doesn't really re-evaluate when he is only almost 4 years old...but, it has made me re-evaluate everything...and my consensus, well, I'm grateful.  (Wow, that was a run on sentence if I have ever seen one!!)

I'm grateful for so much...I have an amazing Bug (Nolan to those that don't know that Nolan is my Bug, and will be forever and always)...I'm grateful for the random hugs and kisses I get from him...the simple statements, "Don't worry mommy, I always come home to you"...they melt my heart.  I'm grateful for my family, who without them, whoa, who knows in what kind of shape I would be in lately....My Tash, I love her to bits and pieces...she is...well, she is my rock.  *love you to bits*...All of my friends, near and far...In the grand scheme of life, I have it pretty good.  Sure, there are times that I am ready to rip my hair out, or hang Nolan by his ankles, but there are also way way way more times, that we laugh until we cry, and I can sit back and just love.

Thank you to you all...just know that in some way, every single one of you has changed me, (all for the good...I hope, hahaha), and I'm loving this place in my life that I am at...

For once in a long time, we are happy.
